Their poker software is also free, but you have to sign up at a poker room at their website, but you'll get a great signup bonus as well! EV Analyzer for 9/10-Player Sit'n'Go tournaments Update 05/17/2008 Update 05/08/2007 Update 04/26/2007 Update 04/25/2007 There's quite a bunch of No Limit Hold'em SnG analyzing tools like SnG-PT and others out there. However they don't work while playing (you can only import old hand histories) and they aren't free. The STT Analyzer was designed for (semi-)realtime use, it reads from the hand history folder every few seconds to grab the latest stacks. The STT analyzer currently serves 2 purposes: This tool currently supports PokerStars 9/10 player STTs with a standard 50/30/20 payout structure. Note that this software is designed for experienced players who know what $EV and ICM calculators are about and how to use such information profitably. Multitabling is possible, but more than 2 tables are difficult in practice due to the screen space required for each instance of the STT Analyzer. This software is currently in early beta stage, so please report bugs/problems at the email given at the bottom of this page. The STT Analyzer will be updated regularly so check back often.
[DOWNLOAD REMOVED- READ BELOW] Update 05/17/2008 PokerStars has listed all SnG tools as prohibited, including the STT Analyzer available here. I find this questionable since PokerTracker and PokerACE HUD are allowed, which offer a lot more functionality and certainly help in decision making too, especially in cash games. I hope they will reconsider their decision, as ICM calculation is just a simple math tool not much different from basic texas holdem odds calculation. By no means does ICM replace skill, since it is up to the player to put opponents on reasonable calling/shoving ranges. Update 05/08/2007 STT Analyzer has been updated to V0.5. Automatic stack updates should now almost always work. Only 3-way all-ins might not lead to correct updates. In that case you just wait 1 more hand to get the right stack sizes again. Update 04/26/2007 I started working on a new version of STT Analyzer that directly supports multitabling. You don't need to enter your hand anymore, instead it'll simply return you a push range of hands (it works just like "Compute All" in SNG-PT if you're familiar with that program). The calling range concept is also different from before and very innovative. It uses shifting ranges that approximate an equilibrium strategy. Additionally I might add weighting factors for each player, so that you can specify how much they deviate from an ideal strategy (ie, too loose or too tight). This would give you an extra edge, and would be very useful against regulars you know well and have played many hands against. I cannot give you an ETA when this version of STT Analyzer will be released, could be anything between few weeks and few months.
Update 04/25/2007 Some people have asked me whether using STT Analyzer is legal. The answer is yes, please check the PokerStars Software FAQ. PokerStars does not tolerate software which acts on behalf of the player ("bots") or software which shares data with other players in some way. STT Analyzer does neither, it works (just like for instance PokerTracker) by reading Hand History files in short intervals. Feel free to submit my program to PokerStars so they can evaluate it! EV Calculator This simple tool can come in handy in late stages of NL tournaments. You raise with AK before the flop and get a caller. The flop is Q52 rainbow and you fire a standard continuation bet. Your opponent moves all-in. Should you call or fold? With the EV calculator, you avoid making wrong decisions in such scenarios. Just enter the amount it costs you to call and the pot size. Enter the pot equity which you perceive to be realistic or simply choose one of the presets. In the scenario described above, you would simply click "2 overcards vs. pair" if you think he might have caught a piece of the flop with a weak hand. After pressing the calculate button, the software will tell you how much you win or lose on average when making the call. Note this tool can be used as a basic pot odds calculator as well!
Click here to download PokerStars Tournament Conversion Tool I find it very useful to get all my tournament results into excel sheets, so I can easily track my total profit and create nice graphs. PokerTracker can do this too, but unfortunately it is extremely slow- importing just a few dozen tournaments can take several hours if there's many entrants in them. Also, it will only read the No Limit tournaments, you need to purchase separate licenses for other games such as Omaha. Tracking your total winnings with PokerTracker is thus rather tedious. To use this tournament conversion tool, first request a tournament history from PokerStars, by selecting "Requests / Tournament History" from the PokerStars Lobby menu. You can currently get up to 200 tournament summaries. If you play more tournaments than that, make sure to request those summaries from time to time. Once you received the tournament summary via email, save it to a plain text file. Now you can run the Tournament Converter, open the text file and export it to a tab-separated text file which Excel can read. Note you can open multiple summary files in a row, in order to build one Excel sheet out of multiple summary files. The tournament converter software currently exports:
